As you are probably aware of, VMware has just released it&#8217;s own Kubernetes distribution called &#8222;<a href=\"https:\/\/cloud.vmware.com\/pivotal-container-service\">Pivotal Container Service<\/a>&#8220; which became generally available on Februrary 12, 2018. While this is VMware&#8217;s and Pivotal&#8217;s recommended and preferred way to run Kubernetes in an Enterprise environment, there are several options to either consume any other Kubernetes distribution or build Kubernetes solely from opensource. No matter what path you choose, VMware has a variety of solutions to offer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Compute \/ Cloud Provider<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/kubernetes.io\/docs\/getting-started-guides\/vsphere\/\">vSphere Cloud Provider for Kubernetes<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/vmware.github.io\/photon\/\">Photon OS<\/a> 2.0: Container-Optimized Linux Operating System<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/vmware\/container-service-extension\">Container Service Extension<\/a>&nbsp;is add-on to VMware vCloud Director that helps tenants work with Kubernetes clusters<\/li>\n<li>Runtime environments: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vmware.com\/products\/vsphere.html\">VMware vSphere<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vmware.com\/products\/vsphere-hypervisor.html\">vSphere Hypervisor<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vmware.com\/products\/workstation-pro.html\">Workstation<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vmware.com\/products\/fusion.html\">Fusion<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Network &amp;
